Lufthansa increases its Express-Rail range
– Additional train connections to Frankfurt Airport from Aachen, Düsseldorf, Cologne, Stuttgart and Ulm – Offer valid from mid-December. Lufthansa guests can book new connections immediately
Lufthansa, together with its partner Deutsche Bahn (DB), is significantly expanding its Express Rail routes from Cologne, Düsseldorf, Stuttgart, Aachen and Ulm. The additional ICE offers will provide Lufthansa passengers with connections for arrivals and departures at Frankfurt Airport that are even better coordinated and allow a comfortable transfer to flights.
When the DB timetable changes in mid-December, 119 Lufthansa Express trains to Frankfurt Airport will depart from Cologne’s central station every week instead of the current 77, while the connections offered on the route to and from Dusseldorf will be doubled to 105 ICE trains. Customers from Stuttgart will be able to use 77 connections a week going forward, and there will be 42 and 49 Express Rail trains to and from Aachen and Ulm respectively every week. All routes are already available for booking.
Lufthansa Express Rail offers feeder trains to Frankfurt Airport with integrated booking. If the train or flight is unexpectedly delayed, Lufthansa will rebook the passengers free of charge. Miles & More miles are credited and LH Business Class passengers travel in the First Class of Deutsche Bahn and have access to the DB lounges.
Harry Hohmeister, Member of the Executive Board of Deutsche Lufthansa AG: “Easy booking, easy transfers and a direct connection to the world. We are committed to an efficient and sustainable networking of the various modes of transport. This doesn’t just benefit our customers, it is also good for the environment. The more reliable, attractive and efficient the connection of airports to the ICE network is, the more passengers can begin their journey by rail.”
Lufthansa currently offers Express Rail service for 14 German cities. In addition to those mentioned above, these are Dortmund, Göttingen, Kassel, Erfurt, Würzburg, Nuremberg, Freiburg, Karlsruhe and Mannheim. Additional routes are planned.
