As we look ahead to the next summer travel season, Lufthansa is expanding its already large offering of flight options to 15 new leisure destinations. During the summer season 2021, new options are being offered throughout Europe, Asia and Africa and are currently available for booking. These destinations include many cities in Greece (Corfu, Chania/Crete, Mykonos, Kos, Kavala/Thrace and Preveza/Peloponnese), as well as Spain (Jerez de la Frontera, Canary Islands and Tenerife will be continued from winter), Egypt (Hurghada), Cyprus (Paphos), Croatia (Rijeka), Italy (Lamezia Terme), Tunisia (Djerba) and Bulgaria (Varna).

The departure and arrival times of the new destinations out of Frankfurt are well aligned with Lufthansa international flights from North America, whereby connecting passengers will be able to transfer with ease. The departures are scheduled for the early morning hours and return flights to Frankfurt depart in the evening.

“Vacation and leisure travel are expected to play an increasingly important role. Lufthansa is listening to its customers and reacting with many new European and Mediterranean summer destinations in 2021,” said Frank Naeve, Vice President Sales, The Americas, Lufthansa Group.

Since the beginning of July 2019, Lufthansa has been offering additional tourist destinations to its flight plan. With this strategy, Lufthansa’s goal is to actively shape the future of tourism and leisure travel. Therefore, for the summer season 2021, the airline will offer approximately 70 weekly connections to 29 leisure destinations – 15 more destinations compared to the same time period last year.

The flights are bookable as of right now. Booking early has its advantages in that the summer flights for 2021, that are purchased by December 31, 2020, can be rebooked as often as desired, free-of-charge. Additional costs can arise if, for example, the original booking class is no longer available when rebooking to a different date or destination.
