Edelweiss launches new direct flight between Denver and Zurich

Today, Edelweiss, Switzerland’s leading leisure airline operating on behalf of Swiss International Air Lines, is expanding its route network to North America with the launch of seasonal flights between Denver, Colorado and Zurich.

“We are very excited that Edelweiss is coming to Denver. Nearly 30,000 passengers travel between Denver and Switzerland each year, so this new nonstop service is supporting both business and leisure travelers and providing customers with a more convenient and relaxing travel experience,” said Larry Ryan, Lufthansa Group Senior Director of Sales for the USA.

The route is operated twice a week with an Airbus A330-300 that seats 315 passengers. Edelweiss Business Class is equipped with 27 fully lie-flat seats and a state-of-the-art inflight entertainment system with sixteen-inch HD touchscreens. Economy Max encompasses 56 comfortable seats with six inches of more legroom, a deeper recline and many other amenities. The 232 seats in Economy Class provide for a relaxing flight and offer an inflight entertainment system that also features HD touchscreens.

Zurich is Switzerland’s largest city, with a population of 380,000 and over a million people living in the region. Home to the headquarters of many Swiss firms, financial services companies, life sciences research centers and businesses in the creative industry, the city is one of Switzerland’s most important economic hubs. Zurich is well connected via road, rail and air, making it an ideal starting point to also discover the rest of Switzerland and its surrounding countries.

The Zurich Airport was once again ranked third for its high level of customer satisfaction in the Airport Service Quality Award (ASQ) in 2017. Last year, over 29 million people arrived at, departed from or transferred to other flights at Switzerland's biggest airport. The trend in passenger volumes was again positive and reached a new record. Both aviation and non-aviation revenue increased in the reporting period.

The route between Denver and Zurich also contains many onward flight options from Zurich to other European cities with Swiss International Air Lines.
