Eurowings is expanding its flight program from Düsseldorf to New York

  • Six flights per week to Newark (EWR) as of December 1, 2018
  • New flights complement New York (JFK) route
  • Flights already available for booking with prices starting at 179.99 euros one-way from Düsseldorf
  • All flights to New York offer BIZclass and “full flat” reclining seat
  • Eurowings’ long-haul winter flight schedule from Düsseldorf: Bangkok, Fort Myers, Miami, New York, Varadero, Havana, Punta Cana, Cancun, Puerto Plata, Montego Bay

East Meadow, NY – Beginning December 1, 2018, Eurowings will offer six flights per week to New York’s Newark Airport (EWR) in addition to its already existing connections to JFK. Eurowings will assume responsibility of the connection which had previously been offered by Lufthansa.

The flights, operated by an Airbus A330 to Newark (EWR), will take off from Düsseldorf every day, except Tuesday, at 11:45 a.m. with the flight number EW 1112 and land in Newark at 2:50 p.m. local time. The return flight will depart New York as flight number EW 1113 at 4:50 p.m. local time, arriving in Düsseldorf the next day at 6:05 a.m.

Tickets to and from the “Big Apple” can already be booked online at www.eurowings.com or through the Eurowings app for smartphones and tablets, with prices starting at 179.99 euros one-way. Eurowings customers in Düsseldorf also benefit from a codeshare agreement with Lufthansa that makes fast and convenient transfers possible to destinations in the network of the parent company. Furthermore, Eurowings also offers codeshares with United Airlines, thus expanding its reach even farther.

With an ever-expanding long-haul program, the 2018/19 winter flight schedule takes Eurowings’ passengers from Düsseldorf to: New York, Fort Myers and Miami (USA), Cancun (Mexico), Punta Cana and Puerto Plata (Dominican Republic), Varadero and Havana (Cuba), Montego Bay (Jamaica) and Bangkok (Thailand). The Lufthansa Group subsidiary offers its passengers a larger route selection from Düsseldorf Airport compared to any other airport it operates from, as DUS is its biggest hub in Germany. The largest airport in North Rhine-Westphalia has become the home base for 40 Eurowings aircraft, with more than 1,700 flights per week leaving for 95 destinations in Germany and around the world.

Fully-featured Business Class on all flights to NYC

All flights from Düsseldorf to New York, as well as all other destinations in the U.S. (Miami and Fort Myers in Florida; Las Vegas as of summer 2019), offer a BIZclass– a fully-featured Business Class with “full-flat” seats: at the touch of a button, the comfortable seat transforms into a bed that is 6.5 feet long and completely horizontal (“full flat”). Due to the high demand for a Business Class section on the Newark route, Eurowings will operate an aircraft with a larger BIZclass, making 30 BIZclass seats available to passengers (instead of the previously offered 18).
