Recent legislation in Germany on the equal participation of men and women in management positions in both the private and the public sector requires that the supervisory board of Germanwings GmbH determine target quotas for the percentage of women on the supervisory and executive boards as well as set deadlines for their achievement.
The Germanwings GmbH executive board for their part is obliged to set such targets and deadlines for the two management levels below them.
Against this backdrop, Germanwings GmbH set the relevant target levels for the first time in 2015, with a deadline to achieve these by 31.12 2016.
At the end of the year 2016, the figure for the number of women in the first level of management under the executive board stood at 0 percent (target quota: 0 percent) and in the second level below the board at 33.3 percent (target quota: 15.4 percent). The percentage of women on the executive board stood at 0 (target quota: 0 percent) and on the supervisory board at 18.2 percent (target quota: 17 percent).
New targets for the percentage of women have now been determined with a deadline for their achievement set at 31 December 2021. The executive board has decided on a target level of 20 percent for the women's quota in the first level of management, and of 30 percent for the second level of management. The supervisory board has set a target level of 30 percent for the women's quota on the supervisory board of Germanwings GmbH, and 0 percent on the executive board.
Germanwings GmbH does not have its own internet site and therefore publishes the targets and deadlines stated above on the Deutsche Lufthansa AG website, together with the status regarding the achievement of its goals.
